Last week saw the instillation of a cycling-friendly Parklet on Rivington street in Hackney, outside Rotate, a cycling store and cafe in the heart of London’s first ever Low Emissions Neighbourhood. This Parklet was funded by Hackney Council with the aim of making the space greener and more attractive to spend your time, as well as encouraging a healthier lifestyle.
The Parklet will provide space outside Rotate for customers, as well as members of the public, to sit and relax amongst greenery in one of the most built up areas of London. Our installation at nearby Calvert Avenue was positioned similarly in front of a cafe and has lead to a significant increase in business, especially in the summer months as customers want to enjoy the sunshine, and so we’re hoping to see the same at Rotate!
The design also involves 3 cycle hoops to improve infrastructure in the area for green transport, and this is supported by Rotate who will look after the plants to keep the space looking vibrant!
If you’re in the area please go and check it out, and let us know what you think!
