We built our first pop up playground on the road for Tower Hamlets council at Chisenhale Primary School using our green screens, planters and gates.
The space will also be used for an outdoor classroom where children have PE lessons and a gardening club. In addition the school will also run a programme of art workshops, street dance and any other ideas that emerge over the year.
The pop-up playground will allow the children at Chisenhale School to have longer play times in their new ‘covid-secure’ bubbles. The extra space in front of the school will also allow safer drop offs and pickups.
The school hopes that we can transform these roads from something that divides and confines us into a shared space for the community, at the same time as encouraging active travel and making the street greener.
A pocket-park for the community to use outside of school hours has also been successfully crowd funded by the school and is due to be installed shortly, the playground itself was funded by Tower Hamlets council.
Please contact us if you think your school would benefit from a pop-up playground.
