We were asked by Enfield Council to design and build a solar powered Parklet to be piloted on their high street.
They wanted the Parklet to be able to charge up devices such as mobile phones, tablets and PC’s allowing people to use the Parklet to work from. The solar power can also be used to light up the Parklet.
We also installed tall café style tables and stools on one section of the Parklet, as well as bike parking facilities.
The roof section also includes a green roof to absorb rainwater and allows excess water to feed the planters below.
The drive for outdoor working hubs is increasing and Parklets can offer the perfect solution, we have already installed the UK’s first Mobility Hubs in Redbridge. These incorporated charge points for cars and bikes as well and connections to local transport.
Parklets have also bring along significant benefits to local business by attracting pedestrians to dwell and therefore spend money in local shops, research has shown a 30% jump in revenue.
