Welcome back to Wandsworth’s High Street

Welcome back to Wandsworth’s High Street

Following the latest easing of Covid lockdown restrictions Wandsworth’s Old York Road High St has reopened to the public using our planters to replace on-street parking bays.

The council decided to remove the car parking space in front of the businesses (which were mainly hospitality) to add extra seats and tables for the public as research has shown it is far safer to meet outdoors.

The design seeks to offer children, of all ages, a connection with nature which is ever more important following a difficult period for school children. School’s new facility includes a nature pond with native planting and dipping stations, over 35 square metres of wildflower turf, a sensory wall with climbers such as Jasmine, honeysuckle and clematis, a hazel tunnel, a climb through feature, natural teepees and willow screening, native trees and over 60 plants. Bird nest cameras offer students a learning opportunity with the scope for students to stay connected via a live feed to the school website. A bat box has also been installed in the existing horse chestnut tree.

Lancaster West Estate Goes Green

Lancaster West Estate Goes Green

Lancaster West Estate in North Kensington is a considerably sized housing estate built in the 1960's and includes the Grenfell Tower. After the devastating fire in 2017, which claimed the lives of 72 people, the government promised the surrounding estate would be turned into “model social housing estate for the 21st century”.

Therefore we were honoured to be selected to green up the estate by installing 4 living walls, a series of custom made steel planters and flower beds to create a calm peaceful seating area. So far the feedback from the local residents has been amazingly positive.

Planters Re-energise Wandsworth Schools

Planters Re-energise Wandsworth Schools

We have recently delivered planters to St Boniface RC Primary and Garratt Park School in Wandsworth, kindly paid for and donated by the Wandsworth Council.

The planters, as well as soil and plants were very well received, with both staff, parents and children on site to see them safely delivered. Upon arrival, we worked with the staff to place the planters in various locations around the schools.
