St Mary Bryanston
The children at St Mary Bryanston love their new green screens provided by Meristem Design. Funding for the initiative was in collaboration with Addison Lee Group, Westminster City Council and the Mayor of London. Addison Lee Group part funded the initiative as part of their Greener Future Programme.
The reason everyone choose to help support St Mary Bryanston was because in May 2018, St Mary’s was identified as one of the most polluted schools in London by Sadiq Khan’s school’s air quality audit, and the installation of emission-absorbing green screens was one of the main recommendations identified. Studies show that these green screens can reduce exposure to emissions by up to 40%, while also providing privacy and reducing traffic noise.
St Mary’s new green screens were erected over the summer holidays, so pupils could enjoy them when they returned for the new term. On the 29th of October, we were delighted to join their pupils and head teacher, along with Cllr Tim Mitchell from Westminster City Council for the official opening ceremony.
